Error: 2086 - FATAL cifs_cant_read_detail CIFS can't read... .prepared
Description

When backing up to a NAS CIFS Share, you may see the following or similar error, "Error: 2086 - FATAL cifs_cant_read_detail CIFS can't read localhost;admin@<>/<>/<>_423ec4af-1651-2774-18d5-3a3829d78622/<>_20141029_091205_ecb8dfc9-d792-4881-bff1-49d84c45df1c/.13a048da-cf93-4443-b933-212a72fff372.prepared (Success) [at handle_error:70]"
This will also be encountered during restore.
Cause

vRanger is trying to verify .var file using cygwin on the CIFS share and unix extensions are being used, which breaks communication.
Resolution

WORKAROUND 1
Disable "Unix Extensions" on the NAS device
You will need to contact your NAS vendor on instructions how to do this.
WORKAROUND 2
Restore to another recovery point and restore was successful
Additional Information

In this case the issue was seen on a Synology NAS.
