Description

After restoring and powering on a Windows Server 2012 VM, the restored Windows Server 2012 VM gets stuck at boot (spinning dots).
Cause

Windows Server 2012 OS compatibility with the vSphere/ESX server
Resolution

Restore the VM on an vSphere/ESX server that fully supports the Windows Server 2012 operating system.
