Unable to backup unmounted Exchange database -
Description
Exhange database must be online and mounted before backup. Offline or unmounted databases can error with the following:
Warning 2013/12/06 23:24:24 355 Data Plugin ICSINOIEXC023 Database 'MISE&USERS_OU\Mail Boxes Mise&users OU' is 'OFFLINE'
Error 2013/12/07 00:07:27 355 Data Plugin ICSINOIEXC023 Vss component for storage group 'MISE&USERS_OU' not found. Check if all the databases in the storage group are mounted. Also check the Windows Event Logs for possible cause of error.
Error 2013/12/07 00:07:27 355 Data Plugin ICSINOIEXC023 Aborting the stream for storage group MISE&USERS_OU due to failure -
Cause
It is impossible to backup an offline and unmounted database. -
Resolution
Make sure the database is Online before backup. Online but unmounted databases can be mounted automatically by the backup process by ensurinf the option "Mount unmounted databases before backup" is selected.
