This article describes potential MUP warnings on your Core server.
Your system logs, as well as your repositories, may show multiple MUP warnings, for example:
“{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \\RemoteStorageDevice\Repository\dfs.records; the data has been lost. This error may be caused by network connectivity issues. Please try to save this file elsewhere.”
The Multiple Universal Naming Convention Provider (i.e., Multiple UNC Provider, MUP) warnings state that the server on which the Rapid Recovery Core software resides is unable to determine which network client protocol to use when connecting via UNC path. Since your operating system (OS) cannot communicate over UNC, none of your applications will be able to communicate over UNC. Your Rapid Recovery Core will attempt to connect to the repositories via UNC path and subsequently fail to do so. Furthermore, the repository files will not update properly due to the MUP failures. These combined factors can ultimately result in the service crashing and incomplete/corrupt data being written to the repository.
