Unable to Use Copy Exchange 2007, 2010, or 2013 DLLs Wizard during a Mailbox Restore -
Description
This article describes what you can do if the copy Exchange 2007, 2010, or 2013 DLLs wizard will not complete and you cannot use the Get Files action when you are restoring a mailbox using Mailbox Restore with existing Exchange backups.
You might be unable to use the copy Exchange 2007, 2010, 2013 DLLs Wizard and the Get Files action will be grayed out when restoring a Mailbox in Mailbox restore. -
Resolution
To resolve this issue, you will need to copy the ese.dll and exchmem.dll files manually from the Exchange server to the Mailbox Restore directory.
To do so, complete the following steps.
- On the machine running the Mailbox Restore application, navigate to C:\Program Files\AppRecovery\LocalMountUtility\MR (or, if you're not using the Local Mount Utility, C:\Program Files\AppRecovery\Core\CoreService\MR)
- Create a folder titled E2007, E2010, or E2013, depending on which version of Exchange you are running. (If this folder already exists, do not create a duplicate.)
- On your Exchange server, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Bin.
- In this \Bin folder, copy the ese.dll and exchmem.dll files, and then paste them into the E2007, E2010, E2013 folder on the machine running with the Mailbox Restore application.
