EMC Data Domain has fixed an issue in the 2.5.0 DD Boost library that prevented Data Domain storage appliances running DD OS 5.4 from being added to NetVault 9.x. Please see DD Boost 2.5.5.0-414946 release notes for more information.
In order to resolve the issue, NetVault 9.x Client and Server deployments must be patched with the latest DD Boost library (2.5.5.0-414946) as follows:
Contact your NetVault customer support to obtain the required DD Boost v2.5.5 library file(s) and ask for assistance with the following install procedure.
1. Stop NetVault Services using NetVault Configurator
2. Locate and rename the existing libDDBoost.dll or libDDBoost.so files in the NetVault product distribution area. See (3) and examples for location.
3. Hybrid systems require both 32 and 64 bit DD Boost library updates. On those systems copy the appropriate libDDBoost library files into the dynlib and dynlib/bit64 directories. See examples below:
For Windows clients the standard location of the DD Boost Plugin library is:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\NetVault Backup\dynlib\libDDBoost.dll
and
c:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\NetVault Backup\dynlib\bit64\libDDBoost.dll
For Linux clients (running the x86_64 kernel) the standard location of the DD Boost Plugin library is:
/usr/netvault/dynlib/libDDBoost.so
4. Start NetVault Services using NetVault Configurator
