Windows Resource Protection Error -
Description
When attempting to run a windows System File Check (SFC/Scannow) through the Windows repair Tool, you receive the following error.
“Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.”

Cause
This error is caused by disabling the Windows Modules Installer service on your system. -
Resolution
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps.
- Boot into the Windows CD.
- Open a command prompt.
- Run sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows.
