Replication fails immediately with error “ unable to find log file.”
Description

Replication fails with error “unable to find log file.” You will also see auto wrapper error in task detail.
Cause

This can happen when you try and replicate a VM with a higher hardware version than is supported by the target host.

For example; replication of a VM running on an ESXi 5.1 host with hardware version 09 (vmx-09) to a ESXi 5.0 host which only supports hardware versions up to 8.
Resolution

Edit replication job to go to target that supports hardware version running on VM.
Additional Information

With the release of ESXi 5.1 VMware now supports running VMs with hardware version 4 (ESX 3.x), 7(ESX/ESXi 4.x) 8 (ESXi 5.0), and the latest hardware version for 5.1 vmx-09. Because of this, changes are being made to vRanger to check for hardware version as opposed to ESX version to allow for better backwards compatibility when replicating to older ESX hosts.
