Backup of .vhd fails with "Tevo Library Error Exception" and "TevoQueryVolume failed with error"
Description
When backing up a .vhd that is attached at a local volume AppAssure throws - "Tevo Library Error Exception" and "TevoQueryVolume failed with error -2147024895 (0x80070001 - Incorrect function)"
Cause
This can be caused when VSS is unable to snapshot these drives, even through they are presented as local volumes.
Resolution
If the volme in question is a .vhd disk that you have attached as a local disk through disk management, VSS will have trouble snapshotting this volume. However, if you were to take the .vhd and tie it to an iSCSI target off of the host server and then attach that iSCSI target to the local machine and use it as a local volume then VSS would be able to snapshot this volume.
