After upgrade to 7.x backups are failing with 2760 SAN/HOT ADD transport unavailable (4033833)

vRanger is running on a Physical server which is has the VMFS volumes presented correctly. Prior to 7.x SAN mode backups completed successfully and they now fail with 2760 SAN Transport unavailable.

This also applies to Error: 2760 - [vix_cant_open_detail] VIX can't open [DATASTORE] VMFolder/VmName.vmdk (HOT ADD transport unavailable).

This error may be caused by the abscence of 2 registry keys.

WORKAROUND

This can be resolved by applying the registry keys in the attached zip file.

1) Down load the attached VDDK-SSL.zip to the vRanger server

2) Extract VDDK-SSL.reg and Wow64-VDDK-SSL.reg

3) Stop the Dell vRanger Service

4) Run regedit

5) Select the File>Import option

6) Locate the extracted VDDK-SSL.reg file (adds the content of the file to the registry)

7) Locate the extracted Wow64-VDDK-SSL.reg file (adds the content of the file to the registry)

8) Start the vRanger service

9) Backup job should now run using SAN transport
