Description
What are the folder permissions for restore?
Example: There is a secure folder on a Windows File Share server. This folder is locked down to most users. Appassure is able to backup the data ok, however, when going to the console to restore, an error occurs while trying to browse to this folder path to restore an individual file/folder.
"You don’t currently have permission to access this folder. Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder.”
Clicking the Continue button does not work. -
Cause
Windows Explorer does not have true admin rights to copy restricted files/folders or system files/folders. The permissions are correct but an elevated command prompt will be necessary to copy the files. -
Resolution
Open an elevated command-prompt by searching for CMD, right-clicking CMD and 'Run as Administrator'.
Use the 'xcopy' command in the command prompt to perform the restore - XCOPY
