Backup fails with “Error: 2208 - [phys_cant_open_write_detail] PHYS can't open” -
Description
When attempting to Backup a windows 2003 machine the following error is observed “Error: 2208 - [phys_cant_open_write_detail] PHYS can't openC:\Users\vranger\AppData\Roaming\UUID Number-abbt.vztemp for writing (The system cannot find the file specified.)” -
Cause
ABM is unable to backup the windows page file or hibernation file on Windows 2003 machines or Windows 2008 machines upgraded from 2003.This may also apply to Windows 2000 and NT machines. -
Resolution
1. If the job is part of a group job, please create an individual job for this one VM.2. Under Enable Active Block Mapping, uncheck the following options:- Do not include Windows page file- Do not include Windows hibernation file3. Run this newly created backup job with these selections.
