How do I restore backups that have been retired, on old tapes that are not visible in restore window (4032597)

If backup are stored on tape but have been expired from the NetVault database, the backups can be restored by scanning in the tapes. The scan will read the tapes and put the contents indexes back into the NetVault database for 7 days by default. The backups on these tapes will then reappear in the restore window of NetVault.

Note When putting the tapes back into the library make sure no backups are running or the Write protect switch is selected ion the tapes because NetVault will see these tapes as ready for reuse and possibly use then for new backups.
