How to perform an integration between Foglight Experience Monitor (FxM) and Performasure (PaS)
There is a high-level discussion about the integration of FxM and PaS in the userguide.pdf documentation on page in "Chapter 6: Integrating FxM with other Software Products" in the section "Foglight Experience Monitor and Performasure". You can get the User Guide from the FxM web console UI under the menu 'Help' | 'Contents'.
And there is also a more technical discussion of this integration in Chapter 7 of the installguide.pdf document under the section "Performasure Nexus Servers".
Note that even after the integration between FxM and PaS, PaS only gets involved in response to a FxM Alarm having been triggered--something like how SMPT traps come into play (refer to SOL36129 for more about that).
As the docs say "The alarm system in Foglight Experience Monitor can automatically prompt PerformaSure to launch a recording session that will gather statistics relevant to the event that triggered the alarm....". When the FxM alarm is triggered, it issues a request to the Performasure Nexus Server to initiate a recording session. Then the Nexus Server initiates a recording session on the specified agents.
When you are editing an Alarm definition, you'd check off the 'Start PerformaSure recording session using definition' checkbox.
Of course, you'd need to pass the FxM Alarm Definition a previously-configured Performasure Recording Session Definition too. The PerformaSure recording session will be created using parameters specified on the PerformaSure configuration page ('Alarms' | 'Performasure' in the FxM web console).
