There are a few potential cause of this, consider the following settings:
- Disable UAC Remote Restrictions by creating a DWORD named LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy under the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Set the value of the new DWORD to 1
- For the account that is running the installer, set "this account supports Kerberos AES 256 Encryption".
This is configured within "Active Directory users and computers" > User Properties > Account > Account Options.
- Check if policy "Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication" is "Disabled", this must not be configured.
- Try with "DomainFQDN\username" when specifying user on Portal installation UI
For instance, if the domain netbios is 'contoso', and the FQDN is 'contoso.lab.local', enter the username as 'contoso.lab.local\username'
