After installing Repository Viewer on a workstation, you receive the following error while attempting to use filters:
"Connection error. [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no dafault driver specified."
If you log into a system with Repository Viewer installed using non-administrative rights, you are able to view the contents of a remote repository (to which you have administrative rights). However, when you attempt to set filters on that repository, you receive the error listed above. If you open another session to the same machine using an administrative account, this error doesn't occur.
The cause is the result of missing rights on a registry key, and can be resolved by following the steps listed below.
WORKAROUND
1) Open Registry Editor (START -> RUN -> type REGEDIT)
2) Browse to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\InTrust\Repository Viewer\Database Settings.
3) Right-click on the key and select Permissions. Give the user (or group) Full Control access permission to the registry key.
**Please note that you must re-open Repository Viewer after making the registry permission change for the workaround to start working.
STATUS
Issue will be resolved in a future release of InTrust.
