Description
Space Manager with Live Reorg is a client/server application. The Space Manager GUI resides on the Windows client and a daemon, the Quest Server Agent (QSA) resides on the database server. -
Cause
Installation starts with the installation of Space Manager on the Windows client, and when a connection is made to a database, the GUI's database objects are created.

Resolution
Once the GUI is installed, the user will be offered the option to remotely install QSA and create it's database objects.
The remote install of QSA requires the ability to ftp files to the database server, and the rights to remotely execute software (rexec on a Unix server).
If the correct rights are not available, a manual installation can be performed on the database server. This is described in Chapter 9 of the Space Manager Installation Guide, which is available from SupportLink under Downloads.
