Theoretically bitlocker encrypted disks should work without any issues with vRanger. No changes or decryption to be done in vRanger.
Bitlocker filter driver is below the file system driver in the kernel stack.
The drives can be encrypted using Bitlocker on a Windows system. It is not file level encryption but drive level encryption.
For a CIFS repo configured on a windows machine that is bitlocker encrypted, vRanger operations on it (backup write, restore read) will not be affected.
If you try to attach a bitlocker encrypted hard drive to a different machine then it cannot be accessed.
Coming to the virtual machines and FLR, the last section in this link should clear things,
Excerpt:
"Use BitLocker Drive Encryption in the Hyper-V parent partition only. Because BitLocker Drive Encryption is not supported within a VM, do not run BitLocker Drive Encryption on a virtual machine."
It is still recommend trying out this once in the lab. Theoretically restore as well as FLR should work as expected.
