False Data Guard "Received Gap" alarm from Oracle agent -
Description
An oracle instance that is dataguarded is showing that there is a gap in the received logs in foglight. Issue has been cleared numerous times and it keeps coming back. I have checked both the log sequence on the Primary and Physical Standby and they are in sync. -
Cause
One of the Log_Arch_Dest settings referenced an old database instance that was no longer present in the system. -
Resolution
The following queries were run in both databases
show parameter log_archive_config
select dest_name, status, target, valid_role, error, destination from v$archive_dest;
This error message was encountered.
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3 DISABLED STANDBY PRIMARY_ROLE ORA-16047: DGID mismatch between destination setting and target database DATABASE1
This indicated that there was a DG_CONFIG parameters on one of the two databases.
