Export of Server 2016 machine to ESXi 5.5 host fails with "Task 'Create virtual machine' failed" -
Description
Starting with Rapid Recovery 6.1 Windows Server 2016 has been supported. In some instances virtual export of a Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10 machine to an ESXi 5.5 host will fail with the following stack trace:
Replay.Common.Implementation.Virtualization.VSphereApi.EsxRemoteException: Task 'Create virtual machine' failed: A specified parameter was not correct.

Cause
The "specified parameter" from the error above is the OS template on the ESXi host. This is due to the ESXi 5.5 host not being updated to the latest build. At minimum the host must be Version 5.5 Build 4722766 for virtual export of a Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10 machine to work. -
Resolution
- Upgrade the host to the most recent build for Version 5.5.0 or upgrade to the latest version for exports to work.
- After upgrading, if you manually create a new virtual machine on the ESXi host you will see the OS templates are now available in the drop down.
