Hyper-V Restores of savesets created with older plugin 10.x may fail after upgrading plugin to 11.1
Error "Failed to write to file C:\<Netvault Install directory>\Dell\NetVault Backup\tmp\hyperv\restores\<vm-name>\C\ClusterStorage\Virtual Hard Disk.vhdx; check freespace on the target"
With Hyper-V plugin 11.1 version, the working directory path cannot be modified. It is fixed at <Netvault Install directory>\Dell\NetVault Backup\tmp. Since the restore of the vhd files would happen at the target directory, there is no longer a requirement for the working directory to be larger than the size of the VM to restore.
Previous Hyper-V plugin 10.x had the ability of modifying the working directory to a volume with more space than the default on C:\HyperV_APM_Working_Dir. Additionally the rename/relocate options are not available in previous versions to 10.x
Restoring old savesets created on 10.x after updating plugin to 11.1 may fail if the volume located on <Netvault Install directory>\Dell\NetVault Backup\tmp does not have enough space. The working directory needs to be larger than the size of the virtual machine being restored.
Use mklink command to create a Junction.
By creating a junction to redirect all restore data from <Netvault Install directory>\Dell\NetVault Backup\tmp\hyperv to a different volume with enough space will allow the restore to complete.
The folder "hyperv" needs to be deleted so the junction takes its place.
C:\mklink /J "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\NetVault Backup\tmp\hyperv" "T:\tmp"
