On a server where there was a PI repository previously installed but it has been been fully removed and uninstalled.
Errors such are as the following may be seen in
Please select a different host for SQL PI repository. SQL PI Repository is already installed on host
Error: Failed to install SQL PI repository on host xyz
Failed to activate SQL PI repository
This may be the result of one or more conditions related to a Foglight component install:
Grant full permissions to "Users" group on the "infobright" directory and retry the integration.
If you get an error saying, "SQL PI Repository is already installed on host", then do the following:
IMPORTANT: Do this only if you are setting up a new SQL PI repository for the first time.
Login to the Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) host where the PI repository is being deployed and delete all the directories under the "infobright" folder (e.g. E:/Quest/infobright) but retaining the parent folder "infobright".
Grant full permissions to "Users" group to the "infobright" folder.
Enable the SQL PI monitoring from the Database Dashboard.
Please go to the HOME folder of the installation user and delete the file ".infobright_installation".
In Linux, run the command "ls -la" to get a full listing for the directory that includes hidden files to check if the file exists.
Review the service account permissions for the Foglight Agent manager on the destination PI repository and Antivirus settings.
The Infobright folder and binaries should then appear under the chosen path once the SQL PI extension is enabled one 1 database agent.
Note: Switching the Foglight Service account may also be part of the resolution.
Note: If Infobright was removed, a reboot may sometimes be required to complete the removal process, as the installer or an Infobright or Postgres process may cause folders or files to be locked.
