Externally hosted exchange server. Active Administrator is no longer sending email notifications / alerts. The following error appears in the AAConsolelog.log:
The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated. Failure sending mail.
Contact the External exchange provider to assist with configuring the correct SMTP Server Settings in Active Administrator.
Install and Configure SMTP Virtual Servers in IIS.
The SMTP server is not installed by default. SMTP can be added through the Features Summary area of the Server Manager tool.
Within the Active Administrator console, expand Configuration | SMTP Settings.
Enter the SMTP server settings, specifying the correct Host name, port number, authentication, and "from email address".
