DellUnixAgent deployed to monitor AIX host does not collect data -
Description
A DellUnixAgent was deployed to monitor an AIX host from the Agent Managers "Create Agent" utility. The DellUnixAgent is not collecting data.Messages like the following are reported in the DellUnixAgent log:2016-01-14 14:13:24.375 ECHO <fb8be857-fbcf-4747-973d-295a8570e581/HostAgents/5.8.5.2/DellUnixAgent/hostname-agent> ERROR [HostActivitiesCreator[7]-0] com.dell.foglight.infrastructure.InfrastructureAgent - No activities for host "hostname" were provided by agent "com.dell.foglight.infrastructure.UnixAgent@f93df181".2016-01-14 14:13:24.376 ECHO <fb8be857-fbcf-4747-973d-295a8570e581/HostAgents/5.8.5.2/DellUnixAgent/hostname-agent> ERROR [HostActivitiesCreator[7]-0] com.dell.foglight.infrastructure.InfrastructureAgent - Unable to create data collection actions for configuration com.dell.foglight.infrastructure.DellUnixAgentPropertyWrapperSnapshot@d67a34c2. Cause
The DellUnixAgent can only be used to monitor Linux and Solaris hosts. Before V5.8.5 the DellUnixAgent could only be used to monitor Linux hosts. -
Resolution
Delete the DellUnixAgent and deploy a UnixAgent to monitor the AIX host.
