What will happen to the Read/Unread status of migrated mail if user has two or more MAPI profiles on different computers?
CPUU updates a profile on workstation 1, user then logs into the target mailbox from workstation 2 and changes the Read/Unread status of messages within this migrated mailbox.
CPUU is enumerating all MAPI profiles found on the workstation for the currently logged in user. Only MAPI profiles pointing to the source mailbox that has just been switched will be updated. If user works on two or more different computers and will be accessing the other profile after already using his first one than the following will occur:
1. If the MAPI profile on the other computer is now pointing to the target mailbox, CPUU will just skip it.
2. If the MAPI profile is pointing to the user's source switched mailbox, it will be updated by CPUU .
a) All the new mail that came to the target directly will not be modified in any way. This means if user received any mail directly to the target since his mailbox was switched, it will retain Read/Unread status.
b) For all migrated messages in the target mailbox, CPUU will synchronize Read/Unread status back to the way it was on the source every time CPUU runs on the next user's MAPI profile. For example, if user logs into his first MAPI profile, CPUU will set Read/Unread status on all migrated messages according to the source mailbox. If the user then modifies this status on the target mailbox and then logs into another MAPI profile, after some time CPUU runs again and resets Read/Unread status back to the way it was left in the source mailbox.
