Exported csv files are improperly formatted and cannot be imported. (15848)

In pre-Quest NDS Migrator 4.2, using the 'View | Export' feature to export to a CSV (or any) file (type), the action improperly formats the contents. The contents of the export contains many trailing spaces inside the quotation marks surrounding each field and there is a trailing comma at the end of each line. The fields are also ordered such that they do not satisfy the ordering required to import the file successfully. Two additional fields are also included which do not satisfy the CSV file import structure.

In pre-Quest NDS Migrator 4.2, the action to 'View | Export' will export the current visible columns in the 'Object Mapping' tab. These (default) columns do not satisfy the file import structure.

WORKAROUND

When performing the 'View | Export', select the checkbox option named 'Compliant with import format'. This option will format the columns (in the exported file) so that they can be imported without issue.


STATUS

This issue has been fixed in Quest NDS Migrator 4.2. The latest version of Quest NDS Migrator can be downloaded at http://support.quest.com/support_download/Downloads.asp.
