Cannot add reports into reporting jobs: String reference was not set to an instance of a string -
Description
Existing reporting jobs running with defaults still work, however when creating new (or copying old) jobs and adding reports, certain reports can not be added.
The following error is displayed:
Error 0x0000666B: Internal error occurred. Reason: 0x80004003: String reference was not set to an instance of a string. Parameter named: s" -
Cause
The report was saved with invalid parameters. -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
- Open the SQL Reporting Service web console
- Navigate to the report with the error
- Download the report
- Upload the report (overwriting the existing one). This will reset the default parameters on the report
RESOLUTION 2:
Reinstall the Report Pack that contains the report. However, this will reset all the reports in the report pack to default, including the ones associated with jobs.
