User is using Auto Optimize function to perform the optimization and testing processes simultaneously. The function is generating alternatives and starts testing several alternatives SQL at the same time. Due to several SQL being run at the same time, it is putting burden on DB2 resources.
Is there a way to setup the Auto Optimizer to perform the testing one SQL at a time?
That way it does not deplete DB2 resources.
If this is not possible then what is the best way of testing all alternate SQL one at a time?
Rather than use the Auto Optimize which will perform one task after another as soon as it can, one can do the same tasks manually.
First, click on Rewrite to get the alternatives:
Second, click on the Test Run - All down-arrow and use Test Run - Selected (which will then display another dialog full of options to control how the test is run)
One can use the Test Run SQL (next button to the right) that will only run the selected SQL:
Currently, there are no options to control the underlying behavior of Auto Optimize.
