When performing a Public Folder Restore, the Source Public Folder contains sub folders. You then restore the source public folder to the target public folder structure but one level above where the Public Folder was located in the Source.
The options specified in the Public Folder Restore Wizard are as follows (selected options):
- Restore public folders to a registered target storage
- Public Folder Store | Expanded: Selected Public Folder one level above what it originally was in the source
- Date and time stored in the source storage
- Copy source folder content to the target location
- User items
- Restore Subfolders
After performing the restore the source subfolders are then created at the target level you specified, instead of being created at the same level they exist in on the source.
