There's an enterprise-wide SQL server. What are the requirements for ChangeBase account in order to properly create the ChangeBase database?
ChangeBase is using Active Directory named account for its service which should also have appropriate rights on the SQL server to avoid possible permission issues.
Before installing ChangeBase, please prepare such account according to the following:
Create a domain account for sole use of ChangeBASE (call it CBService, for example).
The CBService account must/should:
• It must have the ‘Logon as a service’ right on the ChangeBASE service machine
• It must have a minimum of the ‘public’ and ‘dbcreator’ server role rights within the SQL server where any databases will be created
• It should preferably have a non-expiring password (if this is not possible, the password will need to be changed in the Services applet on the ChangeBASE service machine when required)
Please install ChangeBase and follow its wizard to create a SQL database. After that, the 'dbcreator' role can be removed and 'dbowner' role can be assigned to the CBservice, so it can manage the newly created SQL database.
Note: ChangeBase has the ability to create additional databases in the main workbench. Please restore the 'dbcreator' role to CBservice account prior doing that.
