LiteSpeed is installed on a two node Active/Passive Configuration. The node on which LiteSpeed is installed has the Enterprise Console. The second node can perform LiteSpeed backups without the Primary Node being online, but it is not possible to access the Console to perform a manual backup using the wizard. Is it possible to get the Console on the second node?
LiteSpeed installation is Cluster aware. In a Active/Passive Configuration LiteSpeed should be installed on the Active node and this will automatically propagate the required files over to the passive node, but GUI Tools are not propagated.
The GUI Tools do not get propagated to the Passive Node on a Cluster Installation. Only the Engine and other required files are propagated. To install the GUI Tools on the Passive node, perform a Custom Installation on the Passive Node and select the Enterprise Console to install onto the Passive Node.
This will allow the GUI Interface to be displayed on the Passive Node.
In Versions later than 4.5.0.00139, the GUI Client tools are installed on the Passive Node, however shortcuts must be created manually. See Solution 28389.
