When performing a migration with GroupWise Migrator for Exchange, the following error may be seen in the logs:
ERROR: [5004-24-270-00000000] Unable to process acl for '<user name>' on folder '<folder name>'
OR
ERROR: [5005-24-354-00000000] Unable to process member
The designated user does not have an associated Active Directory mailbox-enabled account in the Exchange GAL at this time, but appeared in an ACL (Access Control List) for a migrating shared folder.
WORKAROUND
This is not a fatal error. The program omits the user from the folder's Exchange ACL, notes the error, but the rest of the process will complete.
Since mailbox-enabled accounts are not yet created in Active Directory for all Groupwise users, this error can be avoided by adding this parameter to the [General] section in the gwmigapp.ini file, found in the installation directory (C:\Program Files\Quest Software\GroupWise Migrator for Exchange\):
ACLS=0
(For Self-Service Desktop Migrator, please add the above parameter to the [General] section in "C:\Program Files\Quest Software\GroupWise Migrator for Exchange\Shared\gwdtapp.ini" file instead.)
This parameter setting tells the program not to copy ACL information to Exchange during the migration. The default parameter setting of ACLS=1 tells the program to copy ACL information and sets folder permissions in Exchange.
