This article explains how to correct issue when a SNMP device is added but is unable to report inventory like example on image below:
This issue is caused due to missing values on device’s SNMP table. At the time the kbox is sending the SNMP connection to the device, it is not able to retrieve value from the MIB object “sysName” because it is blank and cannot provide the information to the inventory.
Third-party tools such as MIB walk and others can be used to test and confirm the SNMP connection with the device hostname or ip address and the community string also to verify the values on the SNMP table, like screenshot below:
The following errors that can be found in the appliance logs regarding this issue
[2018-11-27 10:41:00 -0600] 10.180.60.115 [error] AgentlessInventory->StartSnmpInventory() - The inventory obtained from the SNMP device is insufficient. There may be a configuration problem:InvalidInventoryException: Host name missing. There is not enough information to submit the inventory. --->
[2018-11-27 10:10:07 -0600] KBOX [info] (err): GetToDoList(153,0) invalid osID
To correct this issue: A value needs to be set for “sysName” MIB object (device name) in the SNMP configuration page of the device.
