Remote Site Appliance Syncing or Upgrading Issues (Error 12 or 255) -
Description
When syncing or attempting to upgrade the Remote Site Appliance (RSA) with the K2000 appliance, error 12 or error 255 is received. -
Cause
The K2000 appliance and the RSA connect, but the RSAs are unable to sync or upgrade from the UI. This can be caused by a mismatch between the current server version and the current RSA version: for example, the RSA is running 3.3 and the K2000 is running 3.6. -
Resolution
In the WebGUI for the K2000 (SDA), the log showing errors regarding RSA sync and upgrade is the Server Processor Task error log. You may see the following errors: Error occurred syncing file list: exit code = 12 and/or Error occurred copying upgrade patch to RSA: exit code = 255.
In such a case, the solution is to upgrade the RSA manually, upgrading in a stair-step fashion until the RSA is up-to-date. Kbins for manual upgrades can be retrieved from the KACE Systems Deployment Appliance - Download Software site (click on legacy for versions older than 3.5).
