Upon upgrade to Desktop Authority 9.x, installation of the Desktop Authority 9.x client fails to install on terminal servers and user computers. When verifying if client is installed via Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features, depending on the OS), Desktop Authority 8 client is still installed. When attempting to manually remove the client (still 8.x client), the Error 1721: “There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package”, is displayed.
The following error may also be encountered:
Product: ScriptLogic Desktop Authority: Computer Agent -- Error 1714. The older version of ScriptLogic Desktop Authority: Computer Agent cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.
It is recommended to run the Microsoft FIXIT solution center which will find and remove the ScriptLogic DA (Desktop Authority) Computer Agent (CBM Client from Add/Remove programs or Programs and Features), and allow the DA 9 client to successfully install.
Use the Microsoft FixIT tool link provided below to remove the CBM client from the computer.
Once the ScriptLogic Desktop Authority Computer Agent is deleted, run slogic.bat, or the DAClientinstall.msi file from the Netlogon share to install the Desktop Authority 9 CBM Agent.
