Unable to install the Administrative service on a 2008 server.
The SMWinService_errors.log shows a specific error message of:
"Get authorization group exception: An error (1301) occurred while enumerating the groups. The group's SID could not be resolved"
This is a Microsoft issue, and is caused because the following security identifiers (SIDs) cannot be mapped :
Therefore, some applications that use these SIDs may fail.
This issue may be resolved by applying the Microsoft patch listed below.
SID S-1-18-1 and SID S-1-18-2 cannot be mapped on Windows-based computers in a domain environment
Please note that this patch takes a very long time to install and requires a server reboot.
Just give it all the time it needs to install, and then reboot the server.
After the patch is installed, try to install the Administrative service.
