1. If still running, stop the Desktop Authority Manager and the Desktop Authority Operations service on the Desktop Authority Server.
2. Locate the .MDF and .LDF files for each of the Desktop Authority Databases.
“DAConfiguration” and “DAReporting”
a. To locate these files open SQL Management Studio.
b. Connect to the Server\Instance where Desktop Authority houses its databases.
c. Expand “Databases”
d. Right click on “DAConfiguration” and select Properties.
f. Under the section “Database files” scroll right and find the field “Path”.
g. Repeat steps for the DAReporting database.
3. Browse to the location where the files exist.
4. Copy these files the new SQL server.
DAReporting_log.LDF
IMPORTANT: Place these files in a location on the new server where you want them to stay. Once you attach these files to a SQL instance, you cannot move them unless you first detach them.
5. After installing SQL on the new server, Open SQL Management Studio and right click on the "Databases" section.
6. Choose "Attach".
7. Click the “Add” button.
8. Browse to the DAConfiguration.MDF file and select "OK".
(The .LDF file should automatically populate)
9. Repeat the process for the DAReporting.MDF database file.
