You Cannot Replicate And See Access Is Denied In The Replication Log in Desktop Authority Version 7.8.1
When replicating from the Desktop Authority Manager, you receive the following error:
“Errors were encountered during replication”
The Replication Log shows: “Access is denied”
You notice that the replication status is not updating (turning green) in Deployment Options, Server Manager.
This error is most commonly caused by permissions applied to the Netlogon share on one or more domain controllers. This can occur on a Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 domain controller if the Netlogon share permissions or SYSVOL security permissions have been altered.
Press View and then Replication Log on the Top left menu bar of the Desktop Authority Manager console. The log will show which domain controller you cannot replicate to. Use the information on the hyperlinks below to verify that the permissions set on the SYSVOL and Netlogon folders are correct. The account used for the Desktop Authority OpsMaster service copies the files from the C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic Manager\Scripts folder on the Desktop Authority server to the NETLOGON folder on the domain controller. An account that is a member of the Domain Admins Active Directory security group should automatically have the necessary access to the SYSVOL and Netlogon shares.
Note 1: The default Netlogon share location is the C:\WINDOWS\sysvol\sysvol\domain name\scripts folder on a domain controller.
Note 2: You can browse to the SYSVOL share via the path C:\WINDOWS\sysvol\sysvol.
