What to do when changing the domain name in regards to K1000 (4288846)

Changing the Domain Name can have negative impact on the functioning of the K1000 and its agents

The K1000 can be connected to the Domain in LDAP Labels, SSO and via DNS to the Agent configuration file: ampconf

Before doing a migration several steps need to be taken

Solution

• Make sure to disable SSO before changing the FQDN of the Appliance
• Create an ALIAS if needed to allow Agents to find the K1000
• Change the Appliance DNS Hostname and if needed Web Server Name
• Reboot the Appliance
• Enable SSO again
• Check all your LDAP Smart Labels as they might not be accurate anymore

The Agents are able to connect to the K1000 via DNS and IP Address if not able to find via DNS

The Agents will be able to update their configuration with the new DNS

If not possible due to change in IP and DNS, a new configuration file could be deployed via GPO by deploying a new ampconfig
