1. Setup user
- In web interface go to Users
- By default there is a user named iscsi_user with default password of St0r@ge!iscsi
- If you want to changer user then delete existing user then add user
- The important thing is that the role needs to be set to ISCSI
- Password needs to be 12-16 charcters with at least one special character !@#$%^&*()_+~`-={[}]|\:;
2. Setup VTL container
- In web interface go to Containers
- Click add Add Container
- Set Protocol to Virtual Tape Library (VTL)
- Click Next
- Set Access Protocol to iSCSI
- Set FQDN or IP Address to the client that will have the iscsi initiator
3. Configure iSCSI Initiator on Microsoft Windows
- On quick connect tab of iscsi initiator put in name or ip of the QS instance and hit Quick Connect. (Note: this will fail)
- Open the iSCSI initiator on Microsoft Windows. (you can run iscsicpl.exe from run box or search for it)
- On the targets tab under quick connect --> Target in name or ip of the QS instance and hit Quick Connect. (Note: this will fail to authenticate)
- Select the new discovered target and click connect
- Click Advanced
- Connect Using can in most cases be left as default, but if you are having issues
- Local Adapter: Microsoft iSCSI Initiator
- Initiator IP: Initiator IP address that is same that was configured in step 2f.
- Target Portal IP: IP address of the QoreStor server
- Check Enable CHAP on Log on
- Name = Username configured in Qorestor
- Target secret = Password for user configured in Qorestor
- Hit OK twice and it should connect if everything was correct.
4. Verify Devices
Verify devices show up in device manager (should be one medium changer and ten tape drives)
