Item count discrepancy between source and target mailbox for Recoverable Items sub-folders. And/or between what ODM reports for source mailbox compared to MS Exchange

When migrating the Recoverable Items folder structure, you may notice a discrepancy in the number of items in source mailbox folders vs. the target mailbox folders after migration.

Or you may notice a a discrepancy in the number of items reported by the ODM tool in the source tenant /DiscoveryHolds folder compared to the source item count that MS Exchange shows. 

On Demand Migration (ODM) and On Demand Migration for Email (ODME) only estimate and migrate the following item types when migrating items from the Recoverable Items folder:

"IPM.Note", "IPM.Document", "REPORT", "IPM.Schedule.Meeting", "IPM.Post", "IPM.Recall", "IPM.Sharing", "IPM.SkypeTeams.Message", "IPM.Appointment", "IPM.Task", "IPM.StickyNote", "IPM.Contact", "IPM.DistList"

We have logged Enhancement request ODMEM-I-91:"include log entry to help users understand what was/was not excluded from items to be migrated, with item counts of each item type." to be evaluated by our product team for possible inclusion in a future release of the product, 

Those "IPM.x" categories such as "IPM.Appointment" that do get counted and migrated are in the 'Calendar Logging' folder. So those to folders ought to have the same number of items on the source and target tenants. And reported by MS Exchange on the Source versus ODM on the Source.] The other folders such as 'Deletions' and 'Purges' are where we would expect the number of items not to match because those types of item don't get migrated to the target. And are not counted by ODM so MS Exchange and EWS on the source will report a higher number.
