This is a crash course in using the nvreport -class command to generate custom reports.
To find the available classes use this command.
nvreport -help class
These classes are hard coded in NetVault. There is no way to create your own class.
You can run a default report using this command.
nvreport -class "Job History"
If you want to have different fields than are displayed in the default report, use the -format switch. Use this command to list the available fields.
nvreport -help fields "Job History"
Here is an example of using the format
nvreport -class "Job History" -format "%Title %ClientName %endtime %enddate %exitstatus"
You can change the number of characters displayed by each field using ::#
nvreport -class "Job History" -format "%Title::12 %ClientName::20 %endtime::10 %enddate::12 %exitstatus::20"
You can filter things using the -include option
nvreport -class "Job History" -include "%startdate >= now-7da" -format "%Title::12 %ClientName::20 %endtime::10 %enddate::12 %exitstatus::20"
You can sort things using the -sort option
nvreport -class "Job History" -include "%startdate >= now-7da" -format "%Title::12 %ClientName::20 %endtime::10 %enddate::12 %exitstatus::20" -sort "%clientname+ %exitstatus-"
You can have the output directed to a file in a directory you specify under the netvault/report/output directory.
nvreport -class "Job History" -include "%startdate >= now-7da" -format "%Title::12 %ClientName::20 %endtime::10 %enddate::12 %exitstatus::20" -sort "%clientname+ %exitstatus-" -outputdir JobHistory
