Lotus Notes Plugin backup was failing with the following error messages, even though the Transaction Logs were set to Archive:
1] Error 2013/01/31 18:30:57 16283 Data Plugin UK-TESTSVR-04 Failed to begin archived logs backup
2] Error 2013/01/31 18:30:57 16283 Data Plugin UK-TESTSVR-04 Translog not Archived style. Wrong logging style (circular).
With sub text:
Transaction Logs style is circular.
Archiving logs cannot be performed.
There are not logs for Soft Recovery,
to be backup.
This Incremental BackupSet only can do
Hard Recovery, then data will be only
recovered up to the time this Backup has
been performed.
To allow Rollforward, i.e. Soft Recovery
the transaction logs style should be
changed. Do not use Circular style,
Do use Archive logs style.
As you can see from the following IBM link, that after changing the Logging Style to Archived, the Domino Server assigns a new DBIID to each database.
Therefore you must restart the Domino Server and perform another full backup:
Once the full backup completes, then run the incremental backup. Make sure that the Incremental backup uses the same Selection Set name as the Full backup.
