2. Decide which field or fields used for the primary key (PK) for imported assets.
NOTE: The primary keys are fields or combinations of fields, which are used as unique identifiers for assets that are imported. When assets are imported, the device uses the primary key to determine whether to update an existing record or create one. You can select a field, or a combination of fields, such as PK.
3. Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file.
NOTE: When asset information is imported, the device compares the new information with existing to determine how the latter should be handled.
Depending on whether the information is new, existing or duplicated, the device performs the following actions:
• Create active: If the value of the primary key does not match an existing value, the asset is created.
• Upgrade the active: If the value of the primary key matches an existing value, asset information is updated.
• Make active as duplicate: If there are multiple records for the type of asset that match the value in the CSV chosen as the primary key, OR if there are several records that match the associated asset, the asset is marked as a duplicate. Duplicate records are not imported.
Data import licenses CSV or TXT files
If your license data are in a spreadsheet, you can export it to CSV (Comma Separated Values) and import it into K1000. Or you can use a text editor to create a CSV or TXT file containing the data and import that file.
