The 'notesmigapp.ini' file contains information about how the Notes Migrator for Exchange program should perform its functions.
Many of the 'notesmigapp.ini' file parameters are automatically set by the Setup program that installs the Quest software, while many others record values and choices entered via the program's user interface. Still other parameters are automatically set by the program for internal controls and to track performance statistics.
All of these types of "auto-set" parameters are important to application performance, and adjustments to the auto-set values in the 'notesmigapp.ini' file can cause the associated applications to perform erratically or erroneously. Quest strongly recommends that these auto-set parameters not be manually edited in the 'notesmigapp.ini' file except at the explicit direction of Quest technical support staff.
All auto-set parameters are clearly identified as such in the reference material below.
Some 'notesmigapp.ini' file parameters may be required, meaning they must appear in the 'notesmigapp.ini' file with valid parameter values or the associated program will not run, or may run but will generate errors. An optional 'notesmigapp.ini' file parameter, on the other hand, is a parameter that need not be specified in a 'notesmigapp.ini' file for the program to run and complete its functions without errors.
The default value of a required parameter is the value that appears in the 'notesmigapp.ini' file as it was originally installed by the Quest Setup utility - before the associated program or any user with a text editor has had a chance to edit the file.
The default value of an optional parameter is the value that will prevail if the parameter does not appear within the INI file.
