Follow these steps to backup the DAReporting or DAConfiguration database:
- Open Desktop Authority Manager
- Select Global Options
- Select Server Manager
- On the right panel, click on the “Database Configuration” tab
- Next to the “Physical Server” textbox, click the “…” button
- Select your Desktop Authority Manager server from the drop down list
- Press the “Connect” button
- Select the “DAReporting” or “DAConfiguration” database from the “Database” drop down list
- Select “Perform a Backup or Restoration” from the “Database Operations” drop down list
- Select the “Perform a backup” radio button
- Select the “…” button next to the “Backup File” textbox
- Choose the location and name for the backup file
- Press the “Backup Database” button
- The database backup file will appear in the location specified with a “.BAK” extension applied

- On the right panel, click on the “Database Configuration” tab.
- Next to the “Physical Server” textbox, click the “…” button.
- Select your Desktop Authority Manager server from the drop down list.
- Press the “Connect” button.
- Select the “DAReporting” or “DAConfiguration” database from the “Database” drop down list.
- Select “Perform a Backup or Restoration” from the “Database Operations” drop down list.
- Select the “Perform a restore” radio button.
- Select the “…” button next to the “Restore File” textbox
- Choose the location of the backup file.Press the “Restore Database” button.
Note: You can restore SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000 databases to a SQL Server 2005 or 2008 database, but you cannot restore a SQL Server 2005 or 2008 database to a SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000 database.
