Description: Machine not showing as "Available NetVault Machine" under Client Management
Symptoms: This was caused by a corrupt clientgroups.bin file in the NetVault\db directory.
Problem:
After deleting this file, NetVault just created a new "virgin" one automatically when it was restarted, which solved the problem. The machine was then visible and could be added as a client successfully.
Although machines.dat files on both the NetVault Server and Client machine had entries for the other machine, the machine with NetVault Client software could not be seen under the Client Management window (even after a "Find" was done by IP address).
One symptom of this is that on doing a "Find" by IP address under Client Management, the hourglass disappears quickly, but the machine is not visible. If the client machines IP address entered had been incorrect, NetVault shutdown on that machine, etc. you would get a dialog box displayed with and error message, which does not happen with the corrupt clientgroups.bin file.
