Error Message: 2712 - can't create the directory cifs:
Backups work through vRanger but don’t work through the Virtual Appliances (VA)
There are 2 networks, one for the VM network and the other for the storage (iSCSI) network. The two networks can’t talk to each other. The iSCSI (NAS) network is directly attached to the vRanger Server and the folder is shared through Windows Sharing.
The VM network is on the 172.x.x.x IP ranger and the iSCSI in on the 192.x.x.x IP ranger, with no access to each other.
The resolution is to change the repository address from a share (\\Server\Name) to IP (\\172.x.x.x\Name)
* Note the iSCSI repository IP (\\192.x.x.x\Name) will not work since the VA can’t talk to the iSCSI network but can talk to the share through vRanger (172.x.x.x)
