The following video details how to monitor SQL Server Reporting Services.
IMPORTANT: A new agent can only be created when the SQL Server instance is already monitored.
To configure Reporting Services monitoring:
- From the Global View Databases Dashboard, select the Monitor then SQL Server BI then Reporting Services.
- Select the instance from the list of monitored instances.
- If the Reporting Services are located on another server, change the host name in "Reporting Services Host". By default the host name of the Reporting Database host is selected.
- Select whether you want to generate the name automatically. The default name of a Reporting Service agent is YourInstanceName_YourReportDatabase.
- To enable monitoring the Reporting Service, provide:
- The OS relevant credentials under Reporting Service Account, which is the name of the underlined host on which the service runs.
- The username and password allowed to view the service activity and performance counters. Stored credentials can be used instead of entering the username and password manually.
- Click Monitor.
