After applying a new vRanger 5.2 license your backup fails with error message:
Task validation failed for <VMname JobName>, reason: <host.name.com> is not licensed for the Backup feature.
Failed to acquire the shared resource (<host.name.com> is not licensed for the Backup feature)
When you go to Tools>Options>Licensing
Only vReplicator is License is listed
vRanger licensing is changed. Earlier versions all features were available within vRanger 5.1.1 and earlier.
There are three levels of vRanger licensing, each with different available features:
• vRanger Standard - (Backup, Restore, CBT, ABM & Windows FLR)
• vRanger Pro - (Backup, Restore, Replication, CBT, ABM, Lan Free, Catalog, Windows FLR, Linux FLR)
• vReplicator - (Replication, CBT, ABM)
Note:
Upgrades from previous versions of vRanger will yield vRanger Pro installations, with the functionality described above.
Upgrades from previous versions of vReplicator will result in vReplicator only functionality, as described above.
